👌 but sorry 😐 my question was : why the jaw can go forward?

What is the condition of your jaw joint?

Lisa Lombardo
It depends ! One time no problem and one time in subluxation.. it changes all the time ..

Lisa Lombardo
I had x rays one time with and without splint.. the joint was in a different place.

No disc problems?

Lisa Lombardo
Not on the X-ray – cone beam

Maryanne Bunch
Disc would be seen on an MRI.

Lisa Lombardo
I did it too. The doctor said to me that’s no problem. Just one time a doctor said it’s difficult to you to replace the joint correctly. During the movement you make a subluxation. I feel that is a problem but don’t understand why the jaw can go easily back

Lisa Lombardo
Just one doctor spent the time to observe the movement during the MRI

Bol Bol
it could be something to do with your posture

Bol Bol
is it your lower or upper jaw ?

Lisa Lombardo
The only that can move ..

Bol Bol
so you believe it 100% jaw joint issue then

Some issues can be with a head forward posture. However when things are not stable you end up with muscles and ligaments being stretched and allowing for things to slide where they should not be. I would ask about having the correct height of the tooth restored. There is some natural forward and back motion of the jaw along with the side to side motion that makes the joint unique so you need to take that there is some natural motion in the directions you describe so it maybe that you have just irritated the muscles and the pain is more from a muscle spasm or fatigue than anything else.

Maybe the Tongue too big and low put some pressure forward?

Lisa Lombardo
I don’t know .. I feel no problem with my tongue ..

Régis Msallam
Or maybe a kind of unconscious search for a contact on the front teeth?

Lisa Lombardo
No.. it’s my reality. No occlusion at all know

Lisa Lombardo
The hight who miss between the teeth depends on.. contractions.. but the position is there

You have no stable jaw position, therefore muscles can’t relax and go haywire pulling / spasming..

Lisa Lombardo
During the night too ? What muscles push to jaw forward ?

Tatyana Khablo
Lisa Lombardo I would assume especially at night due to clenching, bruxism. Muscles involved probably Lateral Pterygoid & Masseter. This is just my assumption, I’m not an expert.

Lisa Lombardo
Thank you to tray to give me an answer 🌹👍 but definitely I would know why, on à NTI for example .. my jaw goes back.. the ride side and with it, the left side. Did a have a sort of plane fossea or something like this ? The others people who have TMJD have this problem too?
