Darlene Jones Nelson one of the ER Dr I saw in the past recommended the same thing. Is there any kind you recommend?

Brooke O’Neill we have to go out of town for a funeral with our 2 yr old and my in laws tomorrow I get along with them and all but it’s still stressful and I’m out of Ativan until we get back on saturday…prob sunday

Jaime Chase yea that sounds like a stressful situation. Luckily it’s a short trip. I always tell myself that it will get better and tomorrow is a new day.

I’ve taken my hydroxyzine and stepping back from the commotion in my living I’m out of Ativan until Saturday so I’m just hoping for the best. We have to drive to new Mexico for a funeral tomorrow which is probably contributing to this attack

Also a trick I was taught in therapy during panic attacks is to put a SUPER sour candy in your mouth (or a hot candy like a fire ball) it’s almost guaranteed to make you focus on the sour sensation takes your mind away, I use super sour war heads and find they work best for me.

Those few full days of manageability was success. You have not failed I don’t even see it as a set back!! It means you’re actually getting better. We will have panic attacks. I’ll probably have one soon. We’re in this together

Joel Klingensmith thank you I think I just so desperately want to be back to how I was it feels like a step back every time this happens

Sounds crazy but when I feel I’m losing control I choose a silly song and just keep singing repeatedly til it’s over.
Jaime Chase
Sherry Romero ok I’m going to put on “what does the fox say” song always makes me laugh
Sherry Romero
Jaime Chase I usually sing Don’t Worry Be Happy lol

Can you go for a little walk? Sometimes that helps me.
Jaime Chase
Melanie Pollock Stefanoski no I have to finish pack we have to go to new Mexico for a funeral but your right that normally helps me too

Can you step outside? I literally live outside when I’m struggling.
Jaime Chase
Renee Richards I love going to the park and walking we have a really nice one out here Sunset Park has a pond and is huge really relaxes me but tonight it would be just walking around my complex
Renee Richards
Jaime Chase I literally sit on my front porch! 2am, 5am – whenever lol I have to be outside when I’m very panicked.
Jaime Chase
Renee Richards that’s a good idea
Renee Richards
Jaime Chase I hope you find relief
Jaime Chase
Renee Richards thank you I truly appreciate it

Renee Richards what do you do to keep yourself occupied when you sit out side? Sitting outside was suggested to me as well but I tend to chain smoke out there lol

Nicole Lëę I put on the Calm app and try to do a mediation a quick one like a body scan, if i can’t focus on that yet I put on music from the app – I like the sound of rain 🤷🏼♀️ sometimes I walk around out front wishing someone would steal me lol I stare at the street lights, my neighbors, the stars – try to focus on anything. I do the 5 step ground technique which is hard to do in the dark but I think it challenges my brain even more to focus on that than the anxiety.

It’s going to be ok. Take some breaths. Lay or sit down close your eyes and repeat to yourself over and over in your head “I am ok I am ok I am ok” or you can say anything calming to yourself “I am safe” “this will pass” or you could find a mantra to repeat. This should really help. Just keep repeating in your head and deep breathing
